Some Quick-and-Dirty Thoughts on the Raid of Mar-A-Lago
There are still more questions than answers; there's just so much we don't know.

Three days after the FBI executed a search warrant on Donald Trump’s private residence, there are still more questions than answers, more unknowns than knowns. Nobody is above the law and, unlike actual third-world countries, government officials don’t enjoy immunity from prosecution, but raiding a former president's home is still a big deal. So why did the feds do it? Surely not simply to investigate the mishandling of classified documents, though that’s almost certainly the central allegation in the warrant.
So is this a fishing expedition for evidence of Trump’s instigating the January 6 riot?—which need not be referenced in the warrant given the likely probable cause to search for evidence of mishandled classified information. (Andy McCarthy has a good analysis of this angle.)
