Challenging the Educational Establishment
This past week, I filed two briefs that stand up for free speech and equal treatment under the law.
An increasing amount of my professional time is spent on an assortment of pathologies plaguing education, both K-12 and higher-ed. From transitioning students’ genders without their parents’ knowledge, to shutting down politically incorrect speakers, to racial discrimination under the guise of equity, our educational institutions are fonts of illiberalism. This week, I filed amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs in responding to two such developments, both of them, as it happens, coming out of my home state of Virginia and asking the Supreme Court to correct the errors of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
